Hilarious, honest and real accounts of dating aren't those found in magazines, on dating apps or in those perfectly posed photos on Instagram, but within conversations on Twitter.

People come to Twitter to talk about what they really think about love and dating, the good, the bad and the hilariously awkward.  On Valentine's Day the pressure to have plans is huge and we're bombarded with unrealistic expectations of love.

With Valentine's, just around the corner this gave us the perfect platform to show Twitter's unique voice, providing an antidote to Valentine's with relatable, real content when people need it most.

Part comedy, part social commentary, #ScottishTwitter tweets have long been lauded, with compilations on news sites regularly reaching millions of views, and a 'Scottish People Twitter' forum on Reddit with over 500,000 subscribers.

To coincide with the Edinburgh Fringe, we opened a #ScottishTwitter Visitor Centre, taking the funniest tweets to the world’s biggest comedy festival. The centre featured a stained glass window of scottish Twitter legend and singer @LewisCapaldi, Scotland's funniest tweets reimagined as oil paintings, an audio translator, an interactive timeline marking some of the most iconic Scottish Twitter moments and a welcome video featuring Scottish Comedian @FernBrady. The @TwitterUK handle became the #ScottishTwitter Visitor Centre’s own feed with tweets and commentary from Edinburgh during the visitor centre’s opening hours.

Open in Covent Garden between February 13th-16th the Advice Bureau invited visitors to browse semi-educational and entirely uninformative installations inspired by some of the funniest, most relatable Tweets.

You could cringe your face off in The Gallery Of Awkward Silences, shake our Tragic Date Ball for some useless advice, spin the Wheel Of Misfortune to find an unsuitable date, lay flowers to lost conversations in the Ghosting Graveyard or brave our Adult Area for a sneaky peek at some X-Rated Tweets.

For those not able to visit the centre you could also catch the campaign on Twitter with our educational video featuring comedian @PhilNWang, across in underground stations Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus and Tottenham Court Road, and across the US in New York, Seattle, and San Francisco.

For the duration of the campaign there was a full Twitter takeover of @TwitterUK as our advice bureau staff provide more uninformed dating tips as well as an Twitter autoresponse from the 'Ghosting Graveyard' that you never hear back from...until three months later.
